The Federal Start-up Visa Program Privileges is an excellent pathway to Canada as a Permanent Resident (PR) for an innovator with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and great ideas sponsored and funded by an investor group.

The Government of Quebec and the National Government of Canada have together designed this program which allows foreign nationals to immigrate to Quebec as business owners. However, the applicant must be an experienced entrepreneur who is willing to develop or purchase a business in Quebec. This way a long-term viable business will be created to contribute to the local Quebec and thus the Canadian economy as well.

Eligibility Criteria:

The applicant must:

★ have a minimum net worth of $300,000 CD
★ Have a minimum business experience of 2 yrs.
★ Start and manage either of the industrial, commercial or agricultural business with a net- worth of at least $100,000 CAD;
★ Must involve actively in day-to-day business;
★ Able to create at least one full-time job for a Canadian Citizen or P.R.
★ Able to pass all medical and security checks

The federal government of Canada allows all the provinces (with certain exceptions to Quebec) to administer their own provincial nominee programs or PNP.

Every province or territory of Canada has a certain ‘stream’ (immigration program for a certain group) and criteria for their PNP, out of which PNP Investor stream is one of the options. The program is quite popular as it is well administered; worry free and the investor will be issued a guarantee on the investment which will be returned after 5 years with no interest paid.

Eligible Criteria:

The Requirements for the program are as follows:

★ Have a minimum net worth of $1,600,000CAD;
★ Make an investment of $800,000CAD to the Government of Quebec;*
★ Must have a two (2) years of business experience;
★ Meet the minimum settlement fund cut-off to be able to support themselves and their family;
★ Have the intention to settle in and take up residence in the province of Quebec;
★ The person and all sponsored individuals must pass all medical and security checks as per the norms laid out by the Government of Canada.

*There are available programs for individuals who meet the requirements as noted above but who do not wish to tie-up their funds. They can have the money loaned to them and then pay interest on the loaned funds, thus keeping capital unencumbered.

Quebec Investor Program Privileges:

★ It is an excellent pathway to both Canada and Quebec if you are a high business background;
★ You can become a Permanent Resident (PR);
★ Get all rights of Canadian citizen except to vote or join the military;
★ You will have all the other benefits extended to all Canadians and P.R.’s;
★ After you meet the residency requirements as a PR (stay in Canada for 3 out of 4 years), you can apply for Canadian Citizenship.

It is quite similar to the Federal Self Employed Program in that it is seeking applicants who have unique skills that enrich the province of Quebec.

Aspirants must be able to show that they practice their skills in a self-employed manner while contributing to local economy also.

★ Show their ability to establish themselves in Quebec in a self-employed employed manner;
★ Demonstrate a track record based on their skills of at least 2 years of previous experience;
★ Must possess adequate language ability in either French or English;
★ Show evidence of settlement funds so that both they and any family members can be settled;
★ The person and all sponsored individuals must pass all medical and security checks.

Quebec Self Employed Program Privileges:

★ You can become a Permanent Resident (PR);
★ You will have all the other benefits extended to all Canadians and P.R.’s;
★ After you meet the residency requirements as a PR (stay in Canada for 3 out of 4 years), you can apply for Canadian Citizenship.
