How BC PNP works
BC nominates through Skills Immigration (Skilled Worker and Health Authority streams, including Express Entry BC), scored on the Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) — a 200-point scale that took effect December 4, 2025: work experience (40 points), education (40), language (40), hourly wage (55 — now the single largest factor), and location outside Metro Vancouver (25). No fixed minimum is published; BC runs periodic draws and invites top-ranked profiles, with 2026 rounds ranging roughly from the 50s for targeted draws up to the high 130s for general rounds. In April 2026, BC restructured Skills Immigration around three priority objectives — Care, Build, and Innovate — retiring the standalone International Graduate and Entry Level/Semi-Skilled streams and folding the former Tech pathway (retired as a separate mechanism in December 2024) into the Innovate: High Economic Impact objective, which selects on wage and skill level rather than a fixed occupation list. A qualifying full-time, indeterminate job offer from a BC employer is required for most streams, with the International Post-Graduate category the main exception. Entrepreneur Immigration remains available for owner-operators who invest in and actively manage a BC business, with published minimums of $600,000 personal net worth and a $200,000 business investment.
