A cookie is a small text file a website stores on your device so it can remember something between visits or page loads — that you've seen a notice, for example, or which page sent you here. "Similar technologies" covers things that work the same way without technically being a cookie file, like browser local storage.

• Essential — needed to keep the site working properly. The only one we set ourselves today is a flag remembering that you've already seen our cookie notice, so it doesn't ask again. These can't be switched off without breaking basic site function, and we don't ask for consent to set them — that's standard practice, since they don't track you anywhere else.
• Advertising and analytics — as we run paid advertising for Sherway's services, we use a small number of well-known third-party tools to measure how those ads perform and understand overall site usage. These are set by the provider (Google or Meta), not by us directly.

• Google Analytics — tells us which pages get visited and roughly how, in aggregate, so we know what's actually useful on the site.
• Google Ads conversion tracking — tells us whether someone who clicked one of our ads went on to book a consultation, so we know which ads are worth running.
• Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Pixel — the same kind of measurement, for ads run on Meta's platforms.

None of these tools are handed anything about your actual immigration matter — the case details, documents, and eligibility-checker answers described in our Privacy Policy stay in our own systems and the service providers listed there, never with an ad platform.

Our own essential cookie is a simple flag that persists until you clear your browser's site data. Third-party analytics and advertising cookies follow each provider's own retention period, typically somewhere between 30 days and 2 years depending on the specific cookie and the provider's current policy — Google's and Meta's own cookie documentation has the exact, current figures, since those change from their end, not ours.

• Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings — look for "Privacy" or "Site settings." Blocking non-essential cookies won't stop you from using this site or booking a consultation.
• You can opt out of Google's advertising cookies specifically through Google's Ad Settings, and out of Google Analytics through the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• You can control how Meta uses your data for ads through your Meta ad preferences if you have a Facebook or Instagram account.

We may update this policy as our tools or advertising activity change. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
