The Express Entry Labour Market Stream runs on a published 100-point selection grid modelled on the federal skilled-worker factors: education (25), language (28), work experience (15), age (12), arranged employment in New Brunswick (10), and adaptability (10) — with a minimum of 67 points to be considered (candidates must also be between 19 and 55), though clearing 67 doesn't guarantee an invitation since New Brunswick also weighs provincial labour-market need. The non-Express-Entry Skilled Worker Stream is job-offer-driven and assessed against eligibility criteria rather than this grid — since May 2026, new Skilled Worker invitations have been limited to healthcare, education, and construction occupations due to allocation limits. The Strategic Initiative stream supports French-speaking candidates (NCLC 5 across all four language skills). The New Brunswick Business Immigration Stream (NBBIS) — which replaced the former Entrepreneurial Stream — requires a net worth of at least $500,000 ($300,000 for an agriculture investment), an investment of at least $150,000 creating at least one job, at least 2 years of business ownership or management experience supervising at least 2 employees, CLB 4 language ability, and an age between 19 and 59.
Two 2026 changes worth checking first
Effective February 3, 2026, New Brunswick paused endorsements for Accommodation & Food Services (NAICS 72) and a number of other occupations across both the Express Entry Labour Market Stream and the Atlantic Immigration Program — an occupation-level restriction, not a program closure, but worth confirming your specific occupation against before building a plan around it. Then, effective May 2026, the Skilled Worker Stream narrowed further: new invitations are limited to healthcare, education, and construction occupations due to allocation limits.
