How YNP works
The Yukon Nominee Program is employer-driven — the employer submits the Expression of Interest, not the worker — and Yukon ranks submissions by priority category rather than a published numeric points grid: regulated healthcare professionals rank highest, followed by employers based in rural Yukon (outside Whitehorse), candidates with a year or more of Yukon work/residency history, Yukon University graduates, French-speaking candidates, and holders of a 2024/2025 Temporary Measure Letter of Support (who bypass the EOI and are contacted directly). Skilled Worker covers TEER 0–3 roles with 12 months of relevant experience; Critical Impact Worker covers entry-level roles with 6 months. Employers must advertise the position in Canada for at least 4 weeks before submitting. The Business Nominee Program requires investment and active operation of a Yukon business under a performance agreement.
Yukon runs fixed intake windows, not rolling intake
Unlike programs with continuous intake, Yukon's Skilled Worker and Critical Impact Worker streams only accept employer EOIs during set windows. Both of 2026's windows — January 19–30 and July 6–17 — have now closed; Yukon hasn't yet announced its 2027 intake schedule. Yukon's 2026 nomination allocation held at 282, level with the boosted total Yukon actually delivered in 2025 (an original 215 plus a mid-year top-up of 67). Missing a window means waiting for the next one, so timing genuinely matters here — check back or contact Sherway once 2027 dates are announced.
